Absolute Hearts Weekly Music Review

Once again it is another beautiful Monday, another beautiful week and of course another episode of Absolute Hearts Weekly Music Review. I hope you all had a good musical weekend because I did and with that being said let go straight to the business of the day.

1.      Tunde Ednut- Kosowo: This is one of the best songs I have heard from Tunde Ednut and the fact that the song is already causing some legal battles between Tunde and Shizzi, I think that says it all, because I am pretty sure if the song wasn't good Shizzi won’t have come out to say the song was originally his. Anyway I really love the chorus of this song and the beat was so on point and his verses were dope, if Tunde can continue like this I am confident this year would be great for him musically. I rate this song 8/10.

2.      Skuki- Zero Competition: The brothers have started this year well with this lovely song titled Zero Competition. Once again Masterkraft as continued from where he left off last year as the production credit of the song goes to him. Very nice and catchy chorus and of course meaningful verses and all that earn the song 8/10.

3.      DJ Kentalky ft Lil Kesh - Blessing: DJ Kentalky employed the service of Lil Kesh on this lovely song produced by The Wicked Producer Young John. The beat of this song has some element of Is It Because I Love You but Young John was able to give it it's own rhythm and of course Kesh did a very wonderful job on the chorus and verses. I rate this song 7/10.

4.      Klever Jay - Owo Eko:  To be candid I was very skeptical to hear this song when I saw it because I felt Klever Jay had nothing else to offer but this song put me to shame big time. First let me acknowledge the brilliant production T- Piano did on the song, it was pretty awesome especially those strings he played at the end, that was awesome. The lyrics, the message and how it was passed everything was so on point, Klever Jay was indeed clever on this one and like they say Mo Foooo. I rate this song a perfect 9/10.

5.      Vector - Excellentest: Nice beat from DeeVee and a very nice chorus and hook from Vector and just as expected his verse were so on point though it sounded like Vector was having more of fun on this track. I rate the song a 6/10 and it would go further with a very nice video.

6.      Drew ft Mz Kiss X Sojay- Cruise: Once again Sojay just showed how good he is when it comes to that cool melodious chorus as he gave this sweet beat that sweet feeling it deserve. Drew made sure Mz Kiss didn’t murder him on his track as they both brought their A-game on this track. If this song can have a very good video it would definitely good far. I rate this song 7/10; it is a very cool song.

7.      Bred ft Lil Kesh: I would be very candid Bred did everything he could on this song but it wasn’t just his style and Lil Kesh was really the saving grace this song had. Though the hook was cool sha and the beat wasn’t that bad. The part I still can’t get my head around was when Kesh said “….and come me your next rated and give me headies” and “certify hit maker Lil Kesh” maybe you guys can help me with. I rate this song a 6/10.

8.      DJ Enimoney ft Olamide Oya Dab: DJ Enimoney is the in-house DJ for YBNL and he featured his boss and elder brother Olamide on this B Bams beat. Well we all know that YBNL is the new hit factor we have in Nigeria and who else could make us dab if not DJ Enimoney and Olamide. I am sure when the video of this song comes out the song would reach it potential but for now it is on a 6/10 rating.

9.      Timaya- I Like The Way: Timaya has started the year on a good note with the release of this brand new single titled I Like The Way produced by Jez Blena. This is a very good song I must say, the chorus is cool and the verses were on point and of course it's very dance-able. This song has all the potential to top charts and my rating would 7/10

10.  Reekado Banks - Oluwa Ni: Reekado is ready to prove to us that winning next rated at the Headies wasn’t a fluke as he serves us with this beautiful jam produced by one of Mavin in-house producers Altims. From the beat to the chorus to the verses down to the message everything about this song is on point and I am sure very very soon this song would take over. I rate the song 8/10.

11.  Illbliss ft Flavour X Stormrex- Nku: Let me start with Stormrex, every time I hear her voice I get goose pimple, her vocals are just so extraordinary and the way she uses it to produce those powerful Igbo catchy choruses and hook is just awesome. As expected Oga Boss didn’t let us down with his strong rap verse and Flavour as expected too added his own flavour to the song. I rate this 8/10.

12.  Loose Kaynon: The Chocolate City artiste released his much anticipated project titled Gemini and I was able to lay my hands on it and here are the songs we shall be reviewing.

Go Hard ft Milli X Ice Prince: Just like the title Loose went pretty hard on this one. A very good rap song for every rap lover. The person that surprised me most on this song was Milli, this dude keeps impressing me every time I listen to him, he came in and gave this song a very different dimension. Ice Prince too wasn’t left out has he also brought in his A-game on this track. I rate the song 8/10.

Dreams ft Ruby Gyang: Now this is what I call real rap music, Loose was able to tell a very good story in a very simple and catchy way on this track and of course the lovely and gifted Ruby did justice to the chorus. This is not a song that would blow up in the club because no be dance song but those that really understand rap music would really appreciate this. I rate this song 8/10.

Without any doubt our Song of the Week is Klever Jay- Owo Eko
While the Recommended Song of the Week is Reekado Banks- Oluwa Ni.....

Thank you......
