Speculation
had been spread that the Ivorian would return to London to pursue a possible
coaching role at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea followers of his Twitter account
on Sunday would have been left disappointed after he posted saying that he
would not be coming back just yet. Guus
Hiddink, the interim Chelsea manager, said in December that there were
ongoing discussions aimed at involving Drogba in the new regime after Jose Mourinho was sacked.
Drogba wrote
on Twitter: “On way to Qatar to do some
preparation work for pre-season @impactmontreal”. There was also an
official statement released on Impact's official website on Sunday saying: “Forward Didier Drogba will not be present
for the opening of the camp, but he will be doing preparation work in view of
the upcoming season. He will join the team for the second part of training
camp, which will take place from Feb. 15 to 28 in St. Petersburg, Florida”
The 38years old,
who joined Montreal Impact last year after leaving Chelsea scored 11 goals in
11 games for Impact last year and is contracted to Impact until December this
year
