Watford will not sell Ighalo under any circumstances, but the
Nigerian has hinted a switch to his boyhood club may prove too hard to turn
down saying “there has been speculation
from Spain and Italy but I've played there and now want to play in England. I
don't think I will be moving but I'm not sure I'd say no if United called. They
were my team growing up. I loved watching Andy
Cole and Dwight Yorke on TV. They
were my idols and playing at Old Trafford has always been a dream”
In December, Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores said “I think Ighalo is completely clever, he chose five months ago the option to stay here with Watford. He chose to stay here because he imagined something special for him. It's very clever, he knew perfectly it was the best option for him. I think he'll finish the season with Watford, after that anybody knows”
The 26years old has so far hit 14 goals in the Premier League this season and his form has not gone unnoticed, with widespread media reports linking him with a move away from Vicarage Road. Ighalo enjoyed a sensational 2015, ending the year as the leading goalscorer in English league football after scoring 30 goals in the past 12 months. Ighalo signed a new five-year contract at Watford in September, a deal which will keep him at the club until 2020.
