The year 2015
already ended and the year saw some major upsets in the English football and
United's Kingdom history as a whole, first, four countries out of the five
countries qualified for next year's European Championship to be held in France.
It also saw some
figures changed in terms of crowd to match venues, some huge money spent by
supposedly smaller clubs in the EPL and also a new Champion was crowned in the
EPL and lots more.
But we focus on
the Top XI players of the year in the EPL, the picks were selected from our in-house
correspondents.
The criteria for
the team selections were simple,
1. You don't have
more than four players from a single team on your starting line up
2. The players
should have performed brilliantly for a considerable number of months.
So here we go,
1. First, we have
Kenny a Chelsea fan who gave us his first eleven with reasons for his
selections.

(1.) CECH : With
his experience and been one of the best EPL goalie over a decade and I will
gladly give the Czech International the number 1 spot.
(2.) AZPILICUETA :
He has proven to be one of the best defenders. If not the best right back in
the division. His ability to respond quickly to take ons and his 1 on 1
defending style.
(3.) BAINES : The
best left back in the division, his crossing accuracy and his tireless run
upfront. Yes! Baines.
(4.) YAYA.T : With
his EPL consistency, I pick Yaya to be my holding midfielder.
(5.) STONE : No
doubt, his form has earn him a spot in my team.
(6.) ZOUMA: I
would have gone with John Terry but the former three Lions captain. Dip in form
saw him miss out to his team mate Zouma.
(Strong and very
good in the air).
(7.) COUTINHO:
hmmm! With his dribble skills, ability to give accurate pass and his eyes for
goal. Coutinho is a go for me.
(8.) A.Sanchez : To support for me. No need
to doubt him has my number 8. He has been an utility player upfront for the
gunners.
(9.) KUN AGUERO:
He has what it takes to be in my team, very fantastic striker. (10.) OZIL : The
assist king, A very good combo and link up with the likes of Kun in attack.
(11.) HAZARD: PFA player of the year.tho! He has not been able to
rediscover the form that saw him bagged many accolades last season. I still
trust his abilities with the trio of Ozil, Sanchez and Coutinho.

(1.) De gea: He has been a phenomenal figure
at Man Utd and undoubtedly one of the best goalie in the world presently, It's
widely known dat his heroics earn Man Utd the 4th place last season and in the
summer he became a target for the biggest football club in the world (Real
Madrid), but thanks to Man Utd's doggedness, the club and the EPL would have
lost one of its best!
(2.) Bellerin: A young, fast and pacy right
back, little wonder he made his mark and became a starting figure at Arsenal. He's
indeed had a great 2015 and deserves a mention here.
(3.) Stones: This boy is undoubtedly the new
revelation of a classical defender, he surely has what it takes to be a world
class and he's got a scintillating year also, don't forget, he was a summer
target of 1 of the best coach and a big club in the league (Jose Mourinho, Chelsea)
(4.) Kompany: I think I deserve a slap in the
face if this name isn't there, is it his composure, leadership ability,
doggedness and tackling prowess? He is definitely part of the reason why Man City
is always a title contender and he's got a wonderful year also.
(5.) AzpiLIcueta: A very versatile defender
who can operate from both flanks, apart from his defensive qualities, he runs
down the flank and helps in the offensive, he's included just because of his
consistency through the year and also the advantage of him playing both flanks
well, in case of injury to the RB, He can perfectly switch in there and the
defence line will maintain its stability.
(6.) Coquelin: This french guy is just the
defensive midfield bomb that exploded in the year 2015, Remember Wenger called
him back from loan at Championship side Charlton Athletic to cover for the
injured Aaron Ramsey in December 2014 and ever since then, he has became a
banger in the league, fresh in my memories was his resolute performance that
won Arsenal the game against Man City earlier this year, and he has been so
consistent all through the year also.
(7.) Victor Wanyama: I'm sure this will raise
some eyebrows, but I think the Kenyan captain is a worthy mention, his
strength, agility, ability to win the ball, and dribble skills has made him a good
Defensive Midfielder & he has had a successful 2015 at Southampton. He
drives the ball out of the defensive line into the offensive in a technical way
and at 24, if he can continue like this and improve, he'll definitely do
Africans proud in the EPL.
(8.) Mahrez: Hmmm....this "Algerian Messi"
is indeed a revelation in EPL, his re-invigorated form and ability early this
year helped Leicester rose frm 20th league position at the end of last year to
12th at the end of last season and his scintillating performance this season
has taken Leicester to the top of the league, waow! What a great guy right here. He's
got a wonderful 2015 and surely deserves a place in the team.
(9.) Ozil: I don't need to say much on this
as he's undoubtedly the king of assists in EPL and it wouldn't be an
understatement if I said the whole of Europe in 2015, even if my grandpa plays
as 9, he can be rest assured to get a sweet assist from Ozil, he makes work
easy for strikers with scintillating passes, he has indeed had a great 2015.
(10.) Sanchez: Alexis Sanchez! Eruku
player..agba awo player, workaholic player, at the mention of Sanchez,
defenders tremble, he was so phenomenal in making Arsenal retain thier FA cup
trophy in May 2015, his pace, ruggedness and goal scoring prowess has earned
him a place in the team.
(11.) Kane: This boy is the revelation
striker of 2015. His exploits caught the cynosure of all eyes right from January
1st when he dismantled Chelsea and he went on to win the player of the month
for both January and February. What a great feat! He holds the record of
highest goal Scorer in EPL for year 2015 with 27 sweet goals! Oh no! What Kane has
achieved this year, he never thought of it, so he has indeed had a great 2015..
Bench:
GK - Thibaut Courtois

CB - Chris Smalling
(Manchester United),
LB - Ryan Bertrand
(Southampton FC),
DMF - Toure Yaya
(Manchester City),
AMF - David Silva

AMF - Eden Hazard
