The ticket pre-sales of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice start
next week and the report making the news is that projections have the film
making anywhere between $100-$140 million on opening weekend. It’s still a bit
too early to tell how accurate that estimate really is, but that’s currently
what analysts have it pegged at.
The marketing campaign for the film has been extensive, and despite reports
that the studio wasn’t feeling overly-confident in the final product, you have
to believe that audiences are going to flock in droves to see it. After all,
this is a superhero showdown of epic proportions, one that has never before
been seen on the big screen. It’s also quite possibly the event movie
of the year and to miss out on catching it in theatres would just be
foolish.
There’s no doubt that it’s going to cause quite the storm, but will it top
Lionsgate’s $152.5 million opening haul for The Hunger Games and that is what we would have to wait to find out. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on
March 25th.
