After medical tests showed that the Spaniard had suffered no significant damage to his knee, the manager is hopeful he can return for the second-leg. the Dutchman confirmed the prognosis was not as bad as first feared saying “That's true but we have to wait and see if he is available for Thursday”.'

Sergio Romero has deputized for de Gea, while 18-year-old Dean Henderson was recalled from a loan spell at Stockport County. The teenager was on the bench for Monday night's game, with former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes on loan at Standard Liege.
