MFM Win, Enyimba Lose As NPFL Kick Off

The new season of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) kicked off over the weekend on Saturday to be precise and defending champion Enyimba were shocked by Rivers United (formerly Dolphins FC) as the lost 0-1 to the team from Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Former champions Kano Pillars had a good start to the season as they defeated Rangers International at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Chiamaka Madu put Rangers ahead in the 50th minute as Gambo Mohammed got the equalising goal 12 minutes from time before wew signing Prince Aggreh broke the hearts of the visitors by scoring the winner with virtually the last kick in the game.

Newly promoted club sides MFM Football Club of Lagos started their campaign on a brighter note as they enjoyed a 2-1 away win against Nasarawa United in Makurdi. Musa Newman and Chukwuma Emmanuel were the player that got the goal for MFN and Ifeanyi Nweke pulled one back for the hosts.
