Steven Gerrard Can Watch Liverpool In The Capital One Cup

Steven Gerrard is back in the United States with Los Angeles Galaxy and will be preparing for the CONCACAF Champions League tie with Santos Laguna of Mexico but the former Liverpool captain will not miss the game and he has manager Bruce Arena to thank.

Gerrard said “When I told Bruce the kick-off time, he pushed training and our flight to Mexico back an hour on Sunday to ensure I didn't miss it”.

Steven Gerrard has described Jurgen Klopp as a winner as the German prepares to lead Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday. Gerrard returned to Liverpool's Melwood training base over Christmas and saw Klopp at work first hand and said I look at my old club under Klopp and I am certain they have appointed another winner. Klopp has a presence - an aura which I sensed when I was back at the training ground at Christmas. The way he delivers his message inspires players. There is an honesty and integrity about him and he lets his players know exactly what is expected in a clear way.  People see the jokey side of him in public but there is steel in there. I wish I was younger and sampling it on a daily basis”.
