Boxing: Kell Brook Ready For Big-Name Fight

Kell Brook is targeting the finest fighters the welterweight division has to offer and is confident of securing a high-profile summer bout. The IBF champion wiped out Kevin Bizier in less than two rounds on Saturday night in his hometown of Sheffield and has immediately turned his attention to a follow-up fight.

Brook said “I don't have a preference you can say Danny Garcia because he knocked out Amir Khan. There's revenge with Timothy Bradley because he beat an old stablemate of mine, Junior Witter. You've got Keith Thurman who's really exciting and he's got a lot of respect for me, and I have a lot of respect for him. It would be an unbelievable match-up. Jessie Vargas just won a world title and he's saying he wants to fight. We're hearing things, things are moving, and we'll have something soon”.

The unbeaten Brook also revealed his frustration at not being able to secure a big-name fight sooner Bizier was a mandatory challenger imposed on him by the IBF but now that the Canadian has been dispatched, Brook is eager to move onto bigger and better things. He said “To get the job done in two rounds was a demolition job for me, now we march on for the big one. I'm happy that I've got the mandatory out of the way. I saw it on Twitter, people were saying, 'Why are you fighting this guy?' The fact is I had to fight this guy, he's my mandatory. If I was up to me, I'd be fighting the big boys. Now we've got some time to negotiate with the big boys. Now we look forward to those big fights - the summer showdown, as I've been saying for a while
