Further Setbacks For The Crow Remake

Report has it that production of The Crow has hit another roadblock. Director Corin Hardy has jumped ship. First signing on to helm the troubled project back in 2014, Hardy’s stint on The Crow remake outlasts most other filmmakers that have come and gone but it looks certain producer Dana Brunetti will be hitting the hard reset button for the umpteenth time.

Neither party is yet to release an official statement at the time of writing, but Hardy’s own Tweet from last night really says it all. Pitched as a reboot of Alex Proyas’ 1994 cult classic, which then placed Brandon Lee in the title role, The Crow remake first gained steam when director Stephen Norrington began working on it in 2008. Two years later, Norrington backed out of the project, opening up what would become a revolving door for many directors and writers in the years to follow.

As Relativity’s new President of Production, though, Dana Brunetti is keen to steer the reboot back in the right direction, with a spokesperson saying that “with Dana coming aboard, we are giving him full creative rein. We want him to be able to reboot The Crow under his vision and guidance. We are optimistic he will create the best package for such an iconic franchise.”
