I Warned Francis Coquelin About Second Yellow- Arsene Wenger

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he warned Francis Coquelin about the danger of receiving a second yellow card during the half-time interval. The Gunners were reduced to 10 men in the 55th minute when the defensive midfielder saw red after bringing down Harry Kane.

Wenger's side were 1-0 up when Coquelin was given his marching orders but were pegged back after his dismissal thanks to goals by Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane. Alexis Sanchez managed to salvage a point for the away side with an equaliser to reduce some of the anger which would have been vented towards Coquelin.

Wenger who spoke after the match, said “We told Coquelin at half-time, because he had a yellow already. But I think Dier deserves a second yellow as well. That could have changed the game. We have shown great spirit all the game. I am proud of the spirit the players have shown, and the response to going 2-1 down with 10 men away from home. But we have big regrets because it looked like we were completely in control. Then we went down to 10 men. That's the regret of the day. It's difficult to take”.
