JFK's Last Surviving Sibling To Release Family Memoir

Jean Kennedy Smith, younger sister of President John F. Kennedy and his last surviving sibling, has signed a book deal for a memoir about her family, due in October. Agent Laurie Abkemeier told Irish Central that Smith's book, titled The Nine of Us: Growing Up Kennedy, will recount charming stories about the Kennedys, long lionized as American royalty for their decades of civic service and headline-grabbing private lives.
Now Smith served as U.S. Ambassador to Ireland under President Bill Clinton and in 2011 was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with Very Special Arts, a nonprofit connecting the arts with people with disabilities.

Hers will be the latest in Kennedy family memoirs. Nephew Patrick Kennedy, son of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy, released A Common Struggle: A Personal Journey Through the Past and Future of Mental Illness and Addiction in October.
