Manuel Pellegrini said Manchester City played well in the 1-0
defeat to Manchester United before
walking out of the interview with Sky
Sports. He said this before walking out “I'm only talking about the
game, nothing more”.
Marcus Rashford scored the only
goal of the derby clash at the Etihad in the 16th minute as City's poor run of
form continued. The defeat is also their fifth at home this season, but
Pellegrini refused to answer questions on why they have been unable to
replicate their form at the Etihad from last year, when they lost just two
matches.
Pellegrini said his side put in a good performance in the second half
despite the result saying “We were the
team what wanted to win for the whole game. The team that played for 95 minutes,
but we missed our chances and made a mistake for their goal. We tried but we
couldn't do it. In the first half before they scored we had control of the
game, we had three or four clear chances to score, we couldn't do it, maybe in
the minutes after the goal we didn't do so well but the second half was a good
performance, good attitude, but we couldn't score”
