John Terry Confirms He Wants Chelsea Stay

An emotional John Terry reiterated his desire to stay with Chelsea after the final game of the season against Leicester. Terry is out of contract in the summer and although the club have offered him a one-year deal, he is yet to sign, saying on Friday that he is mulling over the decision.

The defender was not involved in the 1-1 draw against Leicester due to suspension but made a post-match speech to the fans. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was also watching and applauded when Terry said he wanted to stay.

He said “We all want the same thing,I want to be here for the rest of my career. We have a few days and we will be speaking to the club. I want to stay, the club know that, and the fans know that. I would like to thank everyone. This season has been tough for me and very emotional”.
Chelsea fans showed their support for Terry by applauding in the 26th minute and holding up signs with his squad number on.
