Professor X Will Feature In Josh Boone’s New Mutants

 

With all eyes trained on the imminent X-Men: Apocalypse, there’s little-to-no information to dissect relating to Josh Boone’s planned New Mutants spinoff – that is, aside from the rumoured ’90s setting.

Fox producer and all-round X-Men stalwart Simon Kinberg has at least offered up one verified trinket to whet our collective appetite. The screenwriter-cum-producer noted that Professor X will indeed feature in New Mutants.  Should Charles Francis Xavier have a role in Boone’s anticipated offshoot, it would at least conicide with reports suggesting both he and Alexandra Shipp’s Storm would play a part in Fox’s brand new X-Men movie, which also appears to be eyeing a production start in early 2017. Kinberg did caution that the Professor’s inclusion in New Mutants is subject to change, he stated that right now, as the movie exists, Professor X would be a part of a New Mutants movie.

For now, according to Kinberg, Josh Boone’s New Mutants is readying itself for a 2017 production start, meaning official casting details should be emerging sooner rather than later.
