STARZ SDCC Panels Unveils Comic-Con plans

STARZ has announced their plans for Comic-Con this month and it would include Ash vs. Evil Dead season two, the upcoming American Gods and the Luc Besson feature film Valerian, starring Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne.
Valerian, which also stars Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, Rihanna and John Goodman, kicks off the STARZ SDCC schedule with a Thursday, July 21 panel that is expected to include Besson himself alongside DeHaan and Delevinge. In the film, Valerian and Laurline are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner, blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women and her traditional values drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.

Under directive from their Commander (Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Now unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger. Valerian to hit theaters exactly one year to the day after the panel, on July 21, 2017.

Next up in the STARZ SDCC schedule is a Friday American Gods panel that is expected to include stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Yetide Badaki, Pablo Schreiber and Bruce Langley as well as showrunners Michael Green and Bryan Fuller. There will also be an American Gods booth on the convention hall floor and an autograph session following the panel.

Based on the bestseller by Neil GaimanAmerican Gods posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday, a conman but in reality one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

The STARZ SDCC schedule then moves on to a panel celebrating season two of the hit series Ash vs. Evil Dead with stars Bruce Campbell, Lucy Lawless, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Lee Majors and Ted Raimi planning to join executive producers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. There’s also plans for an Ash vs. Evil Dead cabin in Petco Park and an autograph session and and a late screening.
