Zendaya Circling a role in Greatest Showman movie

 

Singer Zendaya is circling a lead role in The Greatest Showman with Hugh Jackman. Word of Zendaya’s potential casting comes only one week after Michelle Williams closed a deal to star, rounding out a cast that currently comprises both Jackman and Zac Efron.

Chronicling the legendary story of one P.T. Barnum, founder of the modern circus who made a name for himself across Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, The Greatest Showman has already appointed director Michael Gracey at the helm, working from a script penned by esteemed screenwriter Michael Arndt, best known for his work on Toy Story 3.

Hugh Jackman, who has remained attached to the project for years at this point, is set to lead the charge as Barnum, while Zendaya is in contention for the role of a trapeze artist. Efron, meanwhile, will step into the shoes of a playwright who goes on to become Barnum’s right-hand man, and finally, Williams is all but set to play love interest to The Greatest Showman.
