Demi Moore On Board For R-Rated Comedy

Falling into a similar bracket as DreamWorks’ all-star Office Christmas Party, Sony Pictures is quietly assembling its own entourage of talent in anticipation of Rock That Body. It’s a new and R-rated comedy from writer-director Lucia Aniello, who penned the script of a wild bachelorette weekend that goes off the rails – as these cinematic bashes often tend to – alongside Paul W. Downs. Downs happens to be part of the cast, too, which is an ensemble that has now made room for both Demi Moore and Ty Burrell in supporting roles.

Deadline broke news of the two-fold casting coup during the week, confirming that Moore and Burrell will be rubbing shoulders with Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer and Zoe Kravitz. They’ll anchor Rock That Body as five close friends bound for Miami for a bachelorette weekend, but the body of a male stripper quickly throws a spanner in the works as our core quintet scrambles to discover just what on Earth happened – all the while dealing with monstrous hangovers, we assume. Downs and Aniello are attached to produce the shenanigans along with Matt Tolmach and Dave Becky. Jonathan Kadin, meanwhile, will oversee the project on behalf of Sony.

Sony has earmarked Rock That Body for release on June 23, 2017. Production is already underway across New York and the Hamptons, and we’ll be keeping track of Aniello’s R-rated romp as it inches closer and closer to release.
