Jonathan Calleri Joins West Ham

West Ham have completed the signing of Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri on a season-long loan. Slaven Bilic revealed last week a deal was almost done to bring in the 22years old from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado.

Calleri has completed the paperwork in time to join the squad for West Ham's Europa League qualifier against Romania's Astra Giurgiu on Thursday. Calleri told the club website “I am very happy to have signed for West Ham, this represents a fantastic new challenge for me and I am really looking forward to it. The Premier League is the best league in the world and so I am delighted to have this opportunity to play in such a prestigious league. These are exciting times for me personally and I am motivated to adapt my game to this new environment, I am a player who always tries to work as hard as I can and to do my best for the team.”

Calleri's previous clubs include Boca Juniors and Sao Paulo, and he was part of the Argentina squad beaten in the first round at the Rio Olympics this month.
