He is alleged to have worn the accreditation of an unnamed athlete and gone through doping controls, where officers found his face not to match the pass they were shown. Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK), Kip Keino said “We have sent Anzrah back home. He presented himself as an athlete, gave the urine sample and even signed the documents. We cannot tolerate such behaviour. We don't even know how he came here because we (NOCK) did not facilitate his travel here.”
It is the second scandal to hit the Kenyan team since the start of the Games with athletics team manager Major Michael Rotich having also been sent home. Rotich was caught on camera earlier this year, by investigators from the Sunday Times and German TV channel ARD, offering a fake British running team a warning ahead of any drugs test.
