Update On Deadpool 2

With a worldwide gross of $782 million, Deadpool is one of the most successful blockbusters that we’ve seen in some time. As such, it’s no surprise that the film is getting a sequel, with director Tim Miller, star Ryan Reynolds and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick all set to return.

Many actors have been brought up for the role, including Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman and Dolph Lundgren, it appears as if the studio may be heading in a different direction if Mashable’s Jeff Sneider is to be believed.

On the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press, he mentioned that Kyle Chandler is the name that’s been floating around Hollywood. He cautioned to take the news with a grain of salt, but according to his sources, that’s who the studio is looking at.

That wasn’t all, though, as Sneider also mentioned that Domino, who is said to be the scene-stealer of the film, may be played by Mackenzie Davis. Though he’s not always right, Sneider does have a fairly solid track record, so it’s entirely possible that both of these casting choices may end up working out. Then again, with the film still so far off, things can definitely change.

Both Davis and Chandler are unexpected choices for the roles of Domino and Davis, and aren’t names you’d expect to be associated with the characters, but sometimes, that’s when you get the best results – when you go with left field casting.
