James Franco And Zoe Kravitz Joins “Kin”

Filmmakers Jonathan and Josh Baker are on the verge of bringing Bag Man to the big screen in the form of Kin, a sci-fi thriller that has zeroed in on its preliminary cast.  That’s according to Deadline, with the outlet reporting that Jack Reynor, James Franco, Zoe Kravitz and Dennis Quaid have all signed deals to star in the feature film, one that will markedly expand the scope and premise of Jonathan and Josh Baker’s Bag Man for the moviegoing masses.

Screenwriter Daniel Casey helped dot the i’s and cross the t’s of Kin, which will now follow a “recently-released ex-con (Reynor) and his adopted younger brother who are forced to go on the run. Chased by a vengeful criminal (Franco), the feds and a cadre of otherworldly soldiers, their only protection is a found weapon of mysterious ancestry.” WME Global and Good Universe will handle sales of Kin at Toronto International Film Festival in the coming weeks.

James Franco already holds a presence at the upcoming festival thanks to In Dubious Battle, a Depression-era drama based on John Steinbeck’s novel of the same name. Quaid, meanwhile, is part of the ensemble cast for upcoming canine adventure A Dog’s Purpose.
