Screenwriter Daniel Casey helped dot the i’s and cross the t’s of Kin, which will now follow a “recently-released ex-con (Reynor) and his adopted younger brother who are forced to go on the run. Chased by a vengeful criminal (Franco), the feds and a cadre of otherworldly soldiers, their only protection is a found weapon of mysterious ancestry.” WME Global and Good Universe will handle sales of Kin at Toronto International Film Festival in the coming weeks.
James Franco already holds a presence at the upcoming festival thanks to In Dubious Battle, a Depression-era drama based on John Steinbeck’s novel of the same name. Quaid, meanwhile, is part of the ensemble cast for upcoming canine adventure A Dog’s Purpose.
