After being named captain for Belgium, Eden Hazard eyes becoming Chelsea captain

Eden Hazard says he could not captain Chelsea in the way John Terry does after being handed the armband for Belgium. Belgium named Hazard as captain for their friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday, despite Vincent Kompany being included in the initial line-up, and the 25years old will again lead his country in their World Cup Qualifier against Estonia on Sunday

Hazard has high hopes for leading Belgium but revealed he is reluctant to think about becoming Chelsea captain while Terry is around. He said “It's good to be the captain, I enjoy this, I try to be a leader on the pitch, maybe it's new for me now, maybe one year I'm the captain. I want to lead Belgium to the World Cup. I want to win something with the country, I hope we will, but it's too far now.

Asked if he could see himself becoming Chelsea captain, Hazard said “I don't know, we will see. John Terry is still there. I don't want to touch John Terry. I can't be like John Terry, I can't be like him. As a captain I don't talk too much, I try to talk with my feet on the pitch. This is my job.”

Hazard was joined by brother and former Chelsea team-mate Thorgan Hazard for the first time for Belgium in their 1-1 draw with the Netherlands, and Eden Hazard revealed he has plans to one day be joined by a third brother.
