The Super
Eagles are looking forward for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria
with optimism that the North Africans will drop the maximum points in Uyo,
President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju
Pinnick, has boasted.
Pinnick
stated that he spoke with some of the players and that they were oozing with
the confidence that they will beat the Algerians and remain top of their World
Cup group after the November 12 match in Uyo pointing out that Gernot Rohr has also been monitoring
the players in Europe, watching their games and talking with them.
He said “The players are doing well in their
respective clubs and barring injury and ill-health , they are raring not only
to beat Algeria but to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. I spoke with
Carl Ikeme yesterday and he told me he would be fit for the match with Algeria,
we are condemned not only to beat the Algerians but condemned to win well
because we cannot afford not to qualify for Russia. We must defeat Algeria
come November 12 in Uyo. We just need the support and prayers of Nigerians
to achieve our target.”
