Rivers United place 16 players on transfer to revamp squad

 
Rivers United have retained 21 players and placed 16 in the transfer market as they bid to revamp their squad ahead of their campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season as well as the CAF Champions League, report.

Top on the list of players retained by the Port Harcourt Dwellers are captain  Austin Festus, Sunday Rotimi, Idris Aloma, Markson Ojobo and Frederick Obomate. Foreign imports, Godbless Asamoah and Guy Kuemian, as well as the quartet of Hassan Babangida, Patrick Kingsley, Chinonso Okonkwo and Yusuf Jaiyeola are also among the key players that will represent the club next season.

The Port Harcourt-based side have also identified four key players to bolster their squad next season. They are Esosa Igbinoba and Ifeanyi Nweke,  Prince Aggreh, a winger with Kano Pillars, and Niger Tornadoes defender Gabriel Wassa.
