
Nigeria U-20
women's team Falconets have crashed out of the ongoing 2017 FIFA Women's
U-20 World Cup despite coming from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1in their last
Group B game on Sunday morning.
The
Falconets played the last five minutes of the game with 10 players after Gloria Ogbonna was shown a second
yellow card. Spain qualified along with Japan who top the group after
thrashing Canada 5-0 while the Falconets finished third.
Alba Redondo put Spain ahead in the 7th
minute. In the 11th minute the Falconets drew level through Ihuoma Onyebuchi from a corner and in
the 72nd minute skipper Chiwendu Ihezuo
scored the Falconets second goal to give them their second win of the
tournament.
