Merry Christmas and Happy
New Year in Advance to all our esteem and loyal readers, today we serve you
with another episode of the best music review Absolute Hearts Music Review. Hope these songs would put you in
that festive mood.
Without further
ado below is the songs we are reviewing this week:
1. Base One - Ronaldo: I have to the honest, if I probably I heard this song first on radio I won’t believe it was Base One, the style he used in this song is very much different. After his popular and breakthrough song Weeree Ooo this is the second amazing song from him. The rating of this song would be 8/10.
2. Pepenazi -Go High: I really don't know what to say about Pepenazi but I have to be honest, he has found a way to make us accept his pattern by dishing out decent songs every time. The rating for this song is 7/10.
3. Skales –Temper Remix: Not really sure this song needs a remix but when you have Burna Boy on standby I guess you don't miss that opportunity. Burna Boy changed the concept of this song with the Fela style he infused into the song and I must say this, to me it feels like a new song entirely and that's how a remix should sound like. The rating would be 9/10.
4. DJ Spinall ft Wande Coal x Davido - Olowo: I have never imagined how a collaboration between Davido and Wande Coal would sound like but thanks to DJ Spinall now I know exactly what they can do. This is one of those song I would give Davido a thumbs up for, as he didn't fall my hand on this song and of course the Black Diamond himself came through as always. The rating would be 8/10.
5. W4 - Medicine: For sentimental reasons I was very happy when I saw that W4 had resurfaced and I was very eager to hear what the very talented afro pop singer had to offer this time around and I must say I wasn't disappointed. This is not that instant hit song like Control but this song is definitely a song that would go far because after one or two plays you would also receive that medicine. The rating would be 8/10.
6. Wizkid ft Efya -Daddy Yo: Some few days ago Wizkid started to tease us about his latest single and a lot of his fans couldn’t wait to hear what the Starboy general had to offer and after listening to the song I would say Wizkid isn't disappointing though to me not his best song this year (featured or otherwise) but it would definitely go down as one of his amazing songs. What I discovered with this song is that Wizkid is finally pushing out his reggae style which he is really good at. The rating for this song would be 9/10.
7. Toby Grey – MMM: This is one artiste I have so much respect for not just because she is super talented neither is it because of her powerful vocals but because of her creativity and that once again she showed on this song. Listening to this song you might argue she also fell victim of the frozen MMM scheme but then again that's what an artiste does, make you connect to the song. The rating would be 8/10.
8. Masterkraft ft Tekno x Flavour - Far Away: Masterkraft is by the far the most hard working producers for the year and he isn’t done yet as he hits us with another brilliant song which also features Alhaji Tekno and Flavour and together they gave us a 9/10.
9. Orezi - Just Like That: And just when I thought the real Orezi was coming back, I mean after dropping Call The Police I would have expected something better or still on that level but Orezi just went down. This is not to say this song is bad it just a little above average. The rating is 6/10.
10. TY Bello ft Nathaniel-Bassey –Holy Ghost Air: When mama TY Bello releases a song it is a question whether the song would be evergreen or not because her quality is never a doubt. I called her mama because that is her status in this music industry, she isn’t that 'week-in-week-out' artiste but when she drops a song I am sure you know the effect. 10/10.
11. Vector - Adura: This is the first song I heard on the last Vector project titled Lafiaji and I must say it was brilliantly crafted. This song is a very powerful praise song, not the worship and praise kind of song ooooo but Adura is that prayer song for every hustler out there. The rating would be 9/10.
Thank you....
