FA Has Charged West Brom And Watford For Failing To Control Players

West Bromwich Albion and Watford have been charged by the FA after Saturday's match was marred by a late bust-up involving several members of both sides. The melee occurred towards the end of West Brom's 3-1 defeat of the Hornets at the Hawthorns.

Watford's Roberto Pereyra was sent off when he reacted angrily to a challenge from West Brom winger James McClean, an incident which sparked an altercation between several members of both sides. Pereyra appeared to kick out at McClean, after the West Brom midfielder kicked the ball at him while he was on the ground.

An FA statement read “Both West Bromwich Albion and Watford have been charged for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour. It follows an incident in the 84th minute of the game on Saturday December 3 2016. Both clubs have until 6pm December 8 to respond to the charge.”
