Kelechi Iheanacho could not help Manchester City from
losing 4-2 away to Leicester City, Jamie Vardy ended his 10-game goal
drought in the Premier League with his first ever hat-trick for the reigning
champions who moved up to 14th in the table.
Iheanacho
who was making his third start of the English Premier League this season
featured for 58 minutes before he was replaced by Yaya Toure. It was his 10th appearance this term with three goals. Iheanacho
has failed to add to his three goal tally in his last six league games.
England
striker Vardy opened scoring in the third minute and two minutes
later Andy King doubled the
lead. In the 20th minute, Vardy bagged
his brace and Leicester's third when he rounded Claudio Bravo in goal for City. Vardy made it 4-0 in the second
half when he latched on to lose back pass from John Stones and, with Claudio Bravo scrambling, he steered the ball
in via the post from the most acute of angles.
A late
fight back from City saw Aleksandar
Kolarov curl in a wonderful free-kick to pull a goal back in the 82nd
minute, Nolito also scored but it
was too little too late. Manchester City currently fourth on log could drop to
fifth on the log if Tottenham Hotspur beat Manchester United on
Sunday.
