As such, 2017 is a huge year for the DCEU,
as Wonder Woman and Justice League attempt to
turn things around and get Warner Bros.’ cinematic universe back on track. One
of the ways they’ll be doing this is by lightening the tone, which
is something that all of the studio’s future DC efforts will also be
looking to do. That includes 2018’s Aquaman,
which is now gearing up for production and might just
end up taking everyone by surprise.
It’s no secret that the titular hero has
always been a bit of a joke in the comic book world, but with director James Wan promising to deliver
a very different take on Arthur Curry, that could very well change by
the time the film swims into theatres. In fact, if writer
Will Beall is to be
believed, Aquaman may
just blow our minds when it arrives.
He said “It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be
really fun. What we’ve come up with and James especially he has a really clear
idea of the tone he’s going to have, and I think Aquaman is one that’s going to
blow people’s minds, not just visually, but I think the story and the scope of
it is really great.”
