Tottenham have
confirmed that Harry Kane has
sustained ligament damage to his right ankle but say it is not as severe as the
same injury the striker picked up earlier in the season. Kane was forced to
come off early in his side's 6-0
win over Millwall in the FA Cup on Sunday after rolling his ankle
under a challenge from Jake Cooper.
The club
tweeted “We can confirm that Harry Kane
sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during Sunday's FA Cup win against
Millwall. The injury is similar to the one suffered by the forward against
Sunderland in September last year, however it is not considered to be as
severe. Harry will continue to be assessed by our medical staff while he
undergoes his rehabilitation at our training centre.”The England striker hurt the same ankle against Sunderland in the Premier League in September, which kept Kane out for 10 games, however, Tottenham are hopeful that this injury is not as bad.
