Pegged for July 7th, Jon Watts’ all-star reboot is the third crack at a Spidey franchise in the space of two decades and though some are harboring a feeling of apprehension going into Homecoming‘s launch, producer Eric Hauserman Carroll recently told Empire that Marvel is “not making the sixth Spider-Man movie. We’re making the first Peter Parker movie.”
With Iron Man in his corner, Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to pit Tom Holland’s title lead against Adrian Toomes, the former engineer who, after utilizing leftover tech from the Battle of NYC, constructs a cutting-edge wingsuit to become the Vulture, one of the more iconic villains from the Spidey archives. Oscar-winner Michael Keaton has been brought on board to portray Peter Parker’s new nemesis, and has since been busy drawing attention to the reasons why his villain stands apart from other MCU fodder.
Spider-Man: Homecoming scurries into theaters in time for July 7th.
