Joey Barton who recently got an 18 months ban from the FA, has received a nomination for two prizes at the 2017 Cross Sports Book Awards. Barton's book, 'No Nonsense: The Autobiography by Joey Barton', has been shortlisted for the Cross Autobiography of the Year and the Specsavers Football Book of the Year category.
In the book, Barton speaks about incidents of violence during his childhood, manager fall-outs, and the six-month jail sentence for assaulting a teenage boy. Barton faces tough competition for the autobiography prize, with Jonathan Trott and Damon Hill also on the shortlist, while Jo Pavey, Ian Wright and Greg Rutherford are also nominated.
