According to Sky sources, Manchester United are interested in
re-signing Burnley defender Michael Keane. Keane left United to
join Burnley permanently in 2015 for £2m, four years after he signed a
professional contract at Old Trafford.
United are understood to have a 25 per
cent sell-on clause standing from that deal, meaning they would be due a
quarter of any fee paid to re-sign Keane back. It is understood no talks
over a deal have taken place between any of the parties involved as yet. Despite manager Sean Dyche insisting the Clarets are
under no pressure to sell their prize asset and
have yet to receive any bids, the centre-back will be leaving Burnley this
summer, according to Sky sources.
Everton,
Tottenham and Liverpool are all believed to be interested in Keane, who has just
one year left on his contract - which could prompt Burnley to cash in this
summer.
