Court Of Arbitration For Sport Open Investigation Into Man City Signing Teenager Benjamin Garre

Manchester City will face a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport over their signing of teenager Benjamin Garre from Argentinian club Velez Sarsfield. Velez have appealed to CAS after world governing body FIFA last year ruled in City's favour following a complaint about Garre's move to the Premier League club in 2016.

A hearing date has been set for July 3, CAS has announced, with FIFA and City both listed in the dispute against Velez. Garre joined City at the age of 16 last July but Velez claimed the move breached FIFA rules over the signing of minors from outside the European Union.

City argued Garre held an Italian passport and was entitled to move after his 16th birthday.
