Plateau United Go Five Point Clear In The Nigeria Professional Football League

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders Plateau United extended their leadership in the on the table following their 5-1 home win against Gombe United in a matchday 24 encounter on Sunday.
A brace from Peter Eneji both from the penalty spot on six and 44 minutes and a goal each from Elisha Gombe, Kabiru Umar and Emeka Umeh in the 22nd, 79th and 83rd minutes respectively secured the win for Plateau United.

Gombe’s only goal was scored by Mannir Ubale in the ninth minute from the penalty spot. Plateau are now on 45 points, five clear of second placed MFM FC of Lagos.

At the Agege Stadium, Stephen Odey returned to MFM’s starting eleven as they edged struggling Shooting Stars of Ibadan 1-0 at the Agege Stadium, Lagos. The only goal of the game was scored by Monday Shishinma in the 21st minute off an assist from Shola BrossaThe win took MFM to second in the league table on 40 points, while Shooting Stars dropped to the bottom.

FC IfeanyiUbah could not make it back-to-back wins as they lost 2-1 to Rivers United. Rivers United took the lead thanks to Ayo Saka who converted a 60th minute penalty. With 10 minutes left Prince Aggreh equalised for IfeanyiUbah also from the penalty spot but Efosa Eguakun won it for Rivers United in the 94th minute.
