Gospel singer, Nathaniel Bassey has
moved to deny that he was involved in any ‘ghastly accident’ as reported by a
number of media outlets.
Bassey, who led the month-long Hallelujah Challenge, had posted another person’s testimony in which the person survived an accident.
In
the testimony, the person had survived an accident in which their car
somersaulted at Ikate, Lekki-Ajah expressway.
A
part of the testimony read, ‘On the 28th of June I was on my way home
from the last halleluyah praise challenge night which took place at the glitz
event centre, I was inside a car and another car ran into us just at the lekki
3rd round about (ikate) and my car somersaulted inside the roundabout.’
Media
outlets however reported the testimony as Bassey’s, leading to the initial
confusion.
In
his words while denying the reports, Bassey stated, ‘Please ignore any fake news about an
accident. Bloggers have twisted someone’s testimony just to gain traffic.’
He
added, ‘At
least you can now note those with fake news and stay off them.’
The
singer began the Hallelujah Challenge which ran for an hour every midnight in
the month of June.
