#AHMusicReview: Absolute Hearts Music Review

Absolute Hearts Music Review is back and we sincerely apologise for the break in transmission we were only trying to see how we can serve you better. So without further ado here are the songs we are reviewing on African No.1 Review Music programme:

1.      2Baba – Amplifier: First of I love the production of this song, the progression is crazy, no breathing space at all as the tempo just kept rising. 2Baba didn’t really blend with the the verses but he did enough justice with the bridge and chorus to earn the song an 8/10 rating.

2.       Pepenazi - Jabo: This is one artiste that has really mastered his craft and never disappoints when it is time to delivery. As expected Pepenazi returns with another brand new single titled Jabo. Produced by T-Mode, Jabo is another decent effort though if you listen carefully, it has similar sound to that of Orezi's You Gatit. The rating would be 8/10.

3.      Sarkodie ft Patoranking - Many Girl (Kankpe): If you ask me this sound is more like a Patoranking song or leaked version but aside that, this is brilliant collaboration coming from Ghanaian finest Sarkodie and Nigeria dancehall superstar Patoranking. The rating will be 8/10.

4.      Illbliss: As we gear up for another album from that Ibo boy himself, Illbliss decides to dish out two singles to wet our appetite. On the first song he teams up with Praiz and together they gave us this powerful song titled God Of Wonders. The rating would be 9/10
Iteriba: This is another classic hip hop song from Illbliss and on this one he features Cynthia Morgan and together they deliver a brilliant rap song. The rating would be 9/10.

5.      Maleek Berry – Bend It: Just in case you haven’t gotten the memo there is no stopping Maleek Berry as he continues to push to become a household with is singing ability. After enjoying a massive collaboration with Ycee on Juice, Berry returns with Bend It and he did a decent job. The rating would be 8/10.

6.      Tekno -Go: No offence but of the songs Tekno has released this year this is by far the weakest, I am not saying this is a bad song but compared to what Tekno as offered this year, this song is a let-down.  The self-produced track will get a rating of 4/10.

7.      Phyno ft Wande Coal - Zamo Zamo: Phyno love's season isn’t over as he returns with another beautiful track titled Zamo Zamo and on this one he features Wande Coal who took the song to another level. The rating will be 9/10.

8.      Wizkid: Just weeks after dropping the most anticipated album of the year, Wizkid went back to the studio to unleash another fresh material for us. This one is called Medicine and it was produced by the master himself Masterkraft. And just to show how quick this song was able to spread the remix featuring Flavour and Phyno was released in less than 24 hours. I have to say both songs are great songs and they will have same rating of 8/10 each. (See the full album review of Sounds From The Other on Absolute Hearts Album Review)

9.      Masterkraft ft Wizkid - Odoo: The collaboration between Masterkraft and Wizkid is just getting started. After the producer worked with Wizkid on the track Medicine, Masterkraft decides to give us his on track titled Odoo and once again they both produced a brilliant collaboration. The rating will be 8/10.

10.  Ichaba ft Davido - Baby-Mama: Not a fan of Ichaba but I have to give him credits on this one, he put in a decent effort and Davido also came through. Together they gave us an 8/10 song.

11.  Mafikizolo – Love Potion: What else can I say about this song than pure brilliance, the South African duo of Mafikizolo returns with another beautiful blend of African sounds on the song titled Love Potion.  The rating will be 9/10.

12.  Reekado Banks: Mavin act Reekado Banks is back with two songs which are produced by Mavin in house produced Altims. Easy (Jeje) is the first one and I have to say it isn’t a bad song from Reeky. This will have an 8/10.
Kiss: This is the second song and I have to say it’s a bit better than Easy. Though I still feel Altims has not really gotten it right when it comes to highlife songs but this is exceptional he got it right here and Reeky also did proper justice to it. The rating would be 9/10.

13.  Dammy Krane - Catch Feeling: Despite the fact that he has a court case this month The Enterkraner Dammy Krane hasn’t allowed that to pull him down, this will be his third single since his arrest. Catch Feeling is a decent effort but I think it’s time Dammy gets back into his Fuji groove. The rating will be 8/10.

14.  Victoria Kimani ft Rock City- China Love: Not a fan of Kimani but I have to give it to her on this track, she came through. The production itself is top notch and Rock City also didn’t appoint. The rating for China Love will be 9/10.

15.  Reminisce - Ponmile: Alaga Iblie is back and this time he gives us Ponmile to cool the body. This is different sound from Reminisce, a kind of sound we haven’t heard since his Baba Hafusa album. Like I said this is a cool highlife song and the rating would be 9/10.
