Lyon pile more pressure on Ronald Koeman as Everton suffer another defeat

Things are really get worst for Ronald Koeman as his Everton side continue to struggle as they lost 2-1 to Lyon at Goodison Park in the Europa League on Thursday night. The home side fell behind early on when Nabil Fekir slotted home a penalty following a rash challenge by Mason Holgate.

Everton drew level after 69 minutes when Ashley Williams powered home a header, only for Bertrand Traore's deft backheel to hand Lyon the win six minutes later. As a result, Everton have now taken just one point from their opening three Group E games and sit bottom of the table.
The hosts made the worst possible start to the game when just six minutes in, Holgate recklessly chopped down the marauding Fernando Marcal, with referee Bas Nijhuis having no choice but to point to the spot. Lyon captain Fekir stepped up and beat Jordan Pickford with a low shot into the bottom right-hand corner of the net, the France international's eighth goal of the season.
