Burna Boy and Runtown call for the release of Omah Lay and Tems

Nigerians are currently reacting in anger on Twitter after fast-rising stars Omah Lay and Tems were arrested for flouting COVID-19 guidelines in Uganda. 

The pair were arrested on Sunday, December 13, together with their managers for holding an illegal concert at Ddungu resort in Munyonyo where they gathered big crowds despite President Yoweri Museveni’s directives on the prevention of the spread of Covid-19.

Today, Omah Lay and Tems were arraigned before the Makindye Division the court in Kampala and remanded in different prisons till Wednesday, December 16.
