Yes according
to Yahoo Singapore Chinese film star Jiang Wen has signed on for a
role in what will be the first of the spinoff Anthology movies, though there no
details has been given concerning the role he would play.
Director Gareth Edwards who directed the movie Godzilla was looking for a Chinese actor to add to cast in already includes the likes of Felicity Kones, Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelssohn, and Forest Whitaker and with the deal with Wen we can say that has now been confirmed.
Jiang will be most familiar to U.S. audiences for his role in Zhang Yimou’s directorial debut Red Sorghum, while back in his homeland he’s best known for Let the Bullets Fly and Gone With the Bullets, which he also directed.
Rogue One will hit theatres on December 16, 2016.
