Movies To Watchout For This August

Absolute Hearts has decided to keep you up-to-date with the latest movies that are set to hit the theatre right before they do so, so you can decide which you would love to see when they are finally released.
 With that been said here are the movies that would be released in August

1.  The Gift

The movie talks about a young married Simon and Robyn couple whose life is going according to plan until they ran into an acquaintance of Simon’s from his high school and that was how their world took a harrowing tailspin. Simon doesn’t recognize Gordo (the acquaintance) at first, but after a series of uninvited encounters and mysterious gifts prove troubling, a horrifying secret from the past is uncovered after more than 20 years. The features the likes of Jason Bateman, Rebecca Hall and Joel Edgerton just to mention a few and the director is also Joel Edgerton

2.  Dark Places

Directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner the movie is a cleverly twisted thriller based on the best-selling novel by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and it talks about how Libby Day testified against her brother as the person who killed their parent which made her brother did 25 years in prison. In need of money, Libby reluctantly agreed to help a gathering of true-crime devotee led by Lyle Wirth to reexamine the death of her parents that occurred when she was seven and as she and Lyle dig deeper into the circumstances surrounding the murders, her recollections start to unravel and she is forced to question exactly what she saw – or didn’t see. As long-buried memories resurface, Libby begins to confront the wrenching truths that led up to that horrific night. The movies features stars like Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Chloe Grace Moretz and Christina Hendricks

3.  To the Fore

The movie that is directed by Dante Lam and features the likes of Eddie Peng, Carlos Cha, Si Won Choi amongst others talks about a young man who tried to follow his dream to become a professional cyclist.

4.  The Runner

Nicolas Cage played the role of an idealistic politician whose career came to an end after a sex scandal. Now Mr. Cage must re-examine his life to see how he would be able to put his career back on track. Other stars in the movie include Connie Nielsen, Wendell Pierce and Peter Fonda and the person that directed the movie is Austin Stark.

5. The Lost Key

After going through a difficult divorce, Ricardo Adler had to go study Kabbalah's ancient secrets which he believed would help him attain intimacy in his new marriage. Ricardo Alder is also one of the directors of the movie alongside Belen Orsini and Ricardo Korda

6. Exeter

In this movie some teenagers whom had a party in an abandoned asylum went to perform an occult ritual that leads to a very violent possession and after they become spellbound in the building, they try to uncover the asylum's dark past just to survive. Directed by Marcus Nispel the movie features people like Stephen Lang, Brittany Curran Kevin Chapman amongst others.

7.  Big Sky

A teenage girl that has phobia for open spaces was been taken to a high-end treatment facility by her mother in the hope that they can find a cure when they were attacked by two masked gunmen in their van and now she has to confront her biggest fear and fight for her survival. Bella Thorne Aaron Tveit and Kyra Sedgwick are part of the stars in the movie as it was directed by Jorge Michel Grau

8. Straight Outta Compton

Straight Outta Compton tells the true story of how young five talented guys form the hood formed a cultural rebel with their lyrics, swagger and boldness to stand up to the authorities. They formed the world’s most dangerous group, N.W.A.  and they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood as their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today. The movie features Jason Mitchell, Corey Hawkins and O’Shea Jackson Jr. and it was directed by F. Gray Gray

9. The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

At the pinnacle of the Cold War, a mystifying criminal organization plans to use nuclear weapons and technology to disturb the fragile balance of power between the United States and Soviet Union. CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin has now been forced to put aside their conflict and work together to stop the evildoers in their tracks. The movie is directed by Guy Ritchie and includes stars like Henry Cavill, Elizabeth Debicki, Armie Hammer e.t.c

10. War Room

Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all—great jobs, a beautiful daughter, and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Tony and Elizabeth Jordan’s world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. While Tony basks in his professional success and flirts with temptation, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “war room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family. As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends to his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom that victories don’t come by accident. Parts of the casts are Alex Kendrick, T.C Stallings, Beth Moore and it was directed by Alex Kendrick himself.
