Champions League Best 11 Players

After the second round of fixtures in the Champions League, here's a look at the best XI from another week of action in the group stage.
Goalkeeper: Joe Hart definitely has to be the best choice for this position because of his exploits at midweek against an offensive but his Borussia Monchengladbach side, his performance was superb, saving a penalty and also helping his team Manchester City to secure a 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach, he had a first-half penalty save from Raffael was perhaps bettered by a one-on-one stop from the same player shortly afterwards. Hart also set up an opportunity that Sergio Aguero squandered with a quick-thinking drop kick. Harts herioc performance earned city there first win in two games in the UEFA Champions League. He got Iker Casillas seated to the bench on this one. Casillas also proved his former coach wrong but making him suffer a defect on his return to his former team FC Porto.

Right-back: Andrea Barzagli, the veteran Juventus defender, made an assist and also was on duty for the entirety Juventus's match against an amazing Sevilla. He created a goal that opened the scoring four minutes before half-time gave accurate cross to Alvaro Morata as he headed into the net his fifth Champions League goal in as many games to equal Del 'Piero's record of scoring in 5consecutive game in the champion league. His performance made me to put Serge Aurier as a replacement, probably a substitute for Andrea Barzagli. Aurier was the heart of defense for PSG and even scored seven minutes into his Champions League debut with a delightful header, then assisted the second with a flick-on for Luiz from Di Maria's corner.

Centre-back: Maicon has never been one of Porto's star names but this was a superb display from the long-serving 27-year-old, crowned by the header which was precise and well placed .He also did not forget his primary assignment as he kept Diego Costa very quiet for the entirety of the match. Maicon now has three goals in eight appearances this season; his heroics sent Jose Mourinho and Chelsea home with nothing. Maicon replacement if need be has to be Ezequiel Garay of Zenit St. Petersburg who dealt so well with Gent's forward Depoitre in the game the striker found it difficult to find much joy centrally because of Garay's threat. Garay went close with a wonderful curling freekick with Gent's goal keeper Matz Sels tipping it over the goal post.

Centre-back: My pick for the centre back has to be Valencia's Shkodran Mustafi as he was excellent his team's impressive 1-0 win at away in France against Lyon. The hardworking defender, who scored in his team's win over the weekend kept the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Mathieu Valbuena quiet and not even the second-half departure of his central defensive partner Aymen Abdennour through injury could destabilize Valencia's back four. On the substitute bench as a replacement will be Oscar Wendt, who plays Borrusia Mochengladbach, though his team lost to Manchester City, he showed great industry and endeavour on and off  the ball which typified a committed Gladbach  display.

Left-back: BATE Borisov's left back Filip Mladenovic has to be the perfect left back for my best XI, his appetite for the unusual, as he helped his team with two goals of the three goals in the first half-hour against AS Roma. With his side already a goal up, he received the ball on the left flank and without a target for a cross, looked up to see Wojciech Szczesny stationed too far to his left. He dipped a low shot from 30 yards towards the vacant half of the goal and despite Szczesny's attempts to recover, his initiative paid off. His second strike was slightly more orthodox, making a clever run inside to receive a pass and finish superbly from a tight angle. That's a defender with a class. Well as a sub in his place I would put Aymen Abdennour of Valencia kept Lyon's Lacazette quiet and provided a genuine threat from set-pieces - hitting the post twice with great  headers, but he left the game due to an hamstring injury he sustained during the second half of the game.

Central-midfield: Nicolas Gaitán who made the all important difference by scoring Benfica's opener before setting up Goncalo Guedes with a superb pass with his weaker foot. The Argentian International has been the most efficient player of his team after arriving from Boca Juniors to replace Angel di' Maria who was sold to Real Madrid. On the substitute bench seats Danilo of FC Porto, born in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. But plays for Portugal, almost capped a fine performance against Chelsea with a goal when his late header hit the woodwork he also helped his team in breaking up the play against Chelsea, and set his team quickly on the front foot.

Central-midfield: Juan Mata was definitely Manchester United best outlet as he netted from the spot after his cross helped win a penalty. He also was on hand in setting up Chris Smalling who scored a goal  with a wonderful flick over the defence of Wolfsburg. A replacement for Mata has to be Bayern's Thiago Alcântara, Thiago's close control in the game against Dinamo Zagreb continues to amaze me,he provided three assists during the game, Alcantara showed the passing vision expected of him, feeding Costa and Lewandowski and recuperating the ball on countless occasions, made me choose him as a backup plan for Juan Mata.

Attacking midfield: Talented Greek international Kostas Fortounis was instrumental in Olympiakos' shock 3-2 win at Arsenal. It was his shot that forced the corner that he played cleverly out to Felipe Pardo, alone on the edge of the box, to open the scoring. A second corner, from the other side, then swung in wickedly enough for Arsenal's David Ospina to make his high-profile blunder which gifted the Greeks a 2-1 lead. He got me to put Sofiane Feghouli of Valancia on the bench as he put up a very good performance and took his goal against Lyon absolutely superbly.

Right- forward: The superlatives have all been exhausted, so here are some statistics.Cristiano Ronaldo'sgoals in Malmo were the 500th and 501st of his career, and his 322nd and 323rd for Real Madrid. The latter means he is now tied with Raul as Real Madrid's all-time top scorer -- but it would be remiss not to mention that while it took Raul a very respectable 741 games to get that far, Ronaldo has achieved it in 308. That's jaw-dropping stuff. Wednesday's goals in the win over Malmo were bread-and-butter finishes by Ronaldo's standards, and he could have scored a couple more but the scale of his achievement means a routine group-stage win should be remembered for a while yet. Real will have more heroes after Ronaldo, but it is hard to imagine anyone doing anything like this again. I'll put Juan Cuadrado Bello on the bench for him to study the greatest winger of our time, he's still got a whole lo of work to do before he returns to Chelsea from Juventus, In the game against Sevilla, he was a  real livewire on the ball and when running with it, but his crosses rarely met their mark, so he needs to work more in that aspect.

LEFT-FORWARD: Antione Griezmann served up a top showing as he constantly picked  holes in the Benfica team. Set up Correa's goal magnificently with a lovely pass before being withdrawn, as a replacement has to be Alexis Sanchez who was the best Arsenal player during the team's lost to Olympiakos, Sanchez who scored a hat-trick at Leicester and was lively throughout the encounter heading the second equaliser to make the score 2all, only to see Olympiakos score their third almost immediately. He was most times left isolated.

Centre-forward: Robert Lewandowski has now scored 10 times in his last three matches. Scoring against Dinamo isn't a big deal, but the rate in which he has been scoring is surely a big deal, ten goals in 3matches, scoring 5 in one match and as a substitute surely is the talking point.  Well, let's see how it looks when they take on a Arsenal side who are going to be brutal in the next few matches having not won any game in the UCL, sitting on the bench has got to be the Incredible Hulk The Brazilian was involved in absolutely everything  that Zenit did well. Set up the first goal with a  beautiful chip before doing the same for the  second with an even better through-ball.
