The NPFL Week 36 Matches

ABIA WARRIORS 0 : 1 ENYIMBA INTL
Nnsogbu, Enyimba Enyim, Nnsogbu Enyimba Enyim, this is the song the fans in Abia are singing after Enyimba defeated their neighbour Abia Warriors in Umuahia by a lone goal scored by Mfon Udoh. Enyimba should have gone up earlier in the game when they squandered a penalty kick after Abalogu was brought down inside the box, the penalty was taken by captain Udoji, the keeper of Abia Warriors guessed right has he stopped the kick which rebound fell to the captain and he also blasted  the follow-up over the bar. The first half ended with both teams seeking for a goal, the break though finally came in the 71st minute when top scorer last season, Mfoh Udoh scored a solo goal.

After the goal, Enyimba seeked to increase the tally but they were stopped on several occasions by substitute keeper Akpan Bassey who came in for Chinedu Anozie who had been injured in the first half of the encounter. The match ended with Enyimba defending their one zero lead; the win further cements Enyimba's hopes of lifting the cup for the seventh time when closest rivals Giwa FC lost on the road to Heartland of Owerri.
