Facts You Don't Know About Dreams

Dreams are amazing especially when you tend to remember them because there are times we dream only to wake up and not remember what the dream was all about. Dreams are said to be symbolic, as it is said that some dreams reveal to us some things about our lives and with that been said here are some facts about dreams you probably didn’t know about.

1.      You Can’t Read While Dreaming
This they say is the best way to know if you are dreaming or not, if you were able to read a book and tell the time while you are supposedly dreaming then what you are actually doing is not dreaming because it has been said that you can’t read nor tell the time while dreaming. This is according to lucid dreamers.
2.      Lucid Dreaming Is Real
In as much as you might want to argue this out the fact still remains that there are people who are actually aware that they are dreaming and they also have a degree of control over their participation in the dream. Many people who have experienced lucid dreaming said not only can they control their dreams but they can also do imaginary stuff like walk through walls, fly, and even go back in time.
3.      Some Inventions Were Inspired By Dreams
It would surprise you to know that some of the things we use today were actually what some inventors dreamt about, now that what I call an inspiring dream. The famous Google, the periodic table and even the sewing machine are some of the things that were inspired by dreams. What this inventor did was to write down their dream as soon as they woke up and from there they began to work on it. Writers and artist are also not left out of this, they get ideas for a book or panting from their dreams and then wake up write it down and start work on it. I for one bear witness to this because the first book I ever wrote was all I dreamt about.
4.      You Can Dream The Future
As unbelievable as this might sound it is actually true and possible for you to dream about your future but what is not certain is whether or not you would remember it. For example, Abraham Lincoln dreamt that he was going to get assassinated and he did. When next you dream please pay attention to your dream because the dream might just be pointing you to your success.
5.      Sleep Paralysis
This is when you sleep and you can’t get to move and you start to feel like an evil force is holding you down. Most time people who experience this wake up panting and shouting the name of their Lord as they have been struggling to move their body while asleep. This type of occurrence most times doesn’t feel like you are dreaming instead it actually feels like it is real that why you get scared and anxious and you begin to feel as if a demon is holding you down.
6.      You Only Remember 10 Percent Of Your Dreams
No matter how good your memory might be when it comes to your dreams you only remember 10% of it, 90% of the time, you usually don’t even remember your dreams.
7.      Blind People Dream Too
This actually comes in two parts, if you were born blind then you won’t be able to see in your dream but you can rely on your other senses to help you out but if you born with both eyes intact but later on you got blind, when you dream you would be able to see in your dream.

8.      Infants Don’t Star In Their Own Dreams
Babies below the age three years don’t appear in their dream instead they see other people feature in their own dream.
9.      You Dream More Than Once Every Night
One of the reasons why we can only remember 10% of our dreams is the fact that we tend to dream four to seven times during the night. The only we mostly remember is the one we dreamed last before waking up from our sleep though if you are lucky enough you might remember two and sometimes three but the third one won’t look like a dream to you instead it comes like a memory you are trying to recollect.
10.  Snorers Aren’t Dreaming
Have you ever heard someone snoring and you decide not to wake them because if feel that person might be dreaming if yes then here is a good news for you. Snorers do not dream, meaning when you see or hear someone snoring what it means is that at that moment that person is not dreaming. So, the next time you hear someone snore, feel free to wake them up because you know they can’t be dreaming at that time.
11.  You Dream About People You Encounter In Life
Sometimes you get to see someone in your dream and you feel like you don’t know that person well that probably because you don’t remember. The person or people you see in your dream are people that you have see before maybe just once but the fact is that you have come across that person before. You only dream about people you have come in contact with at least once in your lifetime.
