Jamie Vardy Out For Two Weeks

Jamie Vardy is to have a minor operation on a niggling groin injury which will rule the striker out of Leicester's FA Cup clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

The League highest goal scorer should be back for the match against Spurs at White Hart Lane three days later but may have to wait until the game at Aston Villa on Saturday January 16. Vardy was scheduled to be rotated out of Claudio Ranieri's side for the FA Cup encounter in any case and is set to go under the knife on Tuesday. Vardy has played on through small problems throughout the season, taking pain killers at times, and this was seen as a good time to address his occasionally troublesome groin.

He has been integral to Leicester's success this season, netting 15 Premier League goals and breaking Ruud Van Nisterlrooy's 10-game scoring streak, and Ranieri will hope he returns for the second match against Tottenham. Clubs are expected to test Leicester's resolve to keeping him this January, with both Manchester clubs and Chelsea interested.
