A leaked document has shown Chelsea
did not have to pay a fee to bring Radamel
Falcao to the club on loan from Monaco.
An image of the alleged contract, published on the Football Leaks website,
says Falcao was loaned to Chelsea free of charge, with the clubs having agreed
a £38m purchase option at the end of the season. Falcao spent last season on
loan with Manchester United where he
scored four goals in 26 Premier League appearances, with reports hinting that Louis van Gaal's side paid a
substantial fee for his services. The documents also show that Chelsea have
until April 29, 2016 to notify Monaco in writing of their wish to sign
Falcao.
“It is explicitly agreed that no fee
is charged to Chelsea by AS Monaco for the temporary transfer of the
player's registration” the document states. Falcao was rumoured to be
returning to Monaco earlier this month but the Ligue 1 club ruled out
that possibility because of his injury status.
Chelsea declined to comment on the document.
