After taking time off from her music to be with her son, Angelo,
and step away from the spotlight for a while, Adele realized who she is, what she loves about herself and what
she defines as her purpose in life.
Adele covers the March 2016 cover of Vogue magazine
where she opened up about how she took just the right amount of time off for people to miss her and for her to grow
personally. She said “I like myself more
than ever, I feel so comfortable in my own skin. I really like how I look, I
like who I am, I like everyone that I surround myself with. Angelo makes me
very proud of myself. When I became a
parent, I felt like I was truly living. I had a purpose, where before I didn't.
We need to have some privacy, I think
it's really hard being a famous person's child. What if he wants to smoke weed
or drink underage, or what if he's gay and doesn't want to tell me, and then
he's photographed and that's how I find out? My main thing is Mum, then it's
me, then it's work”.
However, Adele also made sure to put some work into her health in order to
be the best mother and performer she can be, including quitting smoking,
staying away from certain foods and limiting her alcohol intake. She said “I
was trying to get some stamina for my tour, so I lost a bit of weight. Now I
fit into normal, off-the-shelf clothes which is a really big problem for me!”
