Adele Voices Her Support for Kesha

At the 2016 Brit Awards, Adele picked up an award for Best British Female Solo Artist. While the honor didn't come as the biggest shocker to fans, the singer's acceptance speech may have caught a few people by surprise.

She shared this while holding her trophy “I'd like to take a quick second to thank my management and my record label for embracing the fact that I'm a woman and being encouraged by it. And I'd also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha. Thank you very much”

As many people know, Kesha is in an ongoing legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke. Just last Friday, the "TiK ToK" singer was in court after she asked for a preliminary injunction that would allow her to release music outside of Dr. Luke's purview. A judge denied the request leaving the singer in tears.

Adele's big prize comes just months before the Grammy winner will hit the road for a world tour in honor of her critically acclaimed album 25. She shared with the audience “Thank you so much. To come back after so long away and be so warmly received is really lovely. So thank you so much! And to all the other girls that are nominated thank you for letting me be in your company. You're all incredible. You're all amazing, and it's a privilege to be alongside you”
