Mother Convicted For Stabbing Three Daughters to Death

A California mother who goes by name Carol Ann Coronado, has been sentenced to life in prison after murdering her three young daughters, her sentence is without parole.

Carol was arrested in May after her three young daughters whose names are  Sophia, Yazmine and  Xenia were found dead in their home.  Carol was said to have slit their throats and stabbed them in the hearts with kitchen knives before laying them on a bed.

Carol was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder on Nov. 30, 2015 after a bench trial.  Prosecutors Emily Spear believes her motive was to hurt her husband who had filed for divorce, during Spear closing argument in December Spear said “She hurt her husband the only way she can, she takes out his children”.  Spear added that Carol intended to kill her husband too but was stopped by her mother, Julie Piercey, who discovered the girls' bodies and wrestled a butcher knife out of her daughter's hands before calling 911.
